Sultry Summer Shindig in Coulterville, Calif.

John contacted me last Thurs. and wanted to know if Terrie and I were interested in riding up to Coulterville to the 8th Annual Sultry Summer Shindig.......drive in car show, ride in bike show, live music, etc.

Terrie had just got her bike back on Sat. morning and we rode down to hook up with John and Pam and go for a ride up the hill.

We arrived and found some shade to park in.  John suggested that I enter my bike in the bike show.......probably win something.  I thought what the heck........it's a fundraiser for the local community of this historic little mountain town.  Paid my entry fees for mine and Terrie's bike, then told John, O.K. you gotta enter yours, too.

It was a great time.......a lazy day, very relaxed..............

While JohnO's evo Ultra Classic not only took 1st place but also people's choice. :huepfenlol2:

Not taking anything from John, he was just a surprised as we were.......just goes to show the judges don't know any more about bikes than the people voting for people's choice.  Hey........it's a black Harley......that's all they needed to know. :huepfenlol2:

We committed to returning next year and dragging some of the Nor Cal krew so if you're interested let me know and I'll put you on the list.

There were some very nice cars there and a couple of bikes that stood out in the crowd but the main thing was to raise money for the local kids events.  It was all good and we had a great day. :2vrolijk_21:

It definitely was fun.  I was very surprised to find that the award fro classic Harley went my way along with People's choice award.  I think they saw the word classic on the fender and assumed that must be it. ;D  I'm down for next year - add me to the list!

How much did you pay Peter for those trophies? Must have been payback, eh? Too bad I was busy that day... next year I guess.
