Paint codes??
« on: August 16, 2010, 08:33:59 PM »

Ok everyone,
I've been researching this for last couple days now whenever I can get on my computer.  I'm wanting to put extended bags and fender on my 08 Copper Canyon/Stardust Silver SEUC.  From all the research on this site and others it looks like there are no actual codes available for the 08 CVO's unless I'm missing something.  I've also had different opinions as to whether someone can just purchase the actual paint from the dealer.  I haven't been able to get the dealer yet to talk with them.  Do any of you out there have any ideas in how I can get this project completed.  My painter would rather have the paint codes or paint itself, but I guess at this point I'm up for suggestions.

I guess too that I'm a little frustrated in that if we can't get the paint or codes, how are we to fix our bikes should (God forbid) we wreck one or something happens to them.  I didn't realize when I bought the bike that something like this would be this difficult.

Anyway...thanks for any help any of can give and sorry if I'm rehashing somemthing that's been went over.

Any paint mixing shop, such as my local Car Quest Auto, can scan the paint on your bike and mix it properly. Had a Black Cherry Pearl matched that way. This is also how Bushtec matched the paint on my trailer to my Scarlett Red CVO. Of coarse Bushtec mixes their own. Hope this will help.

I'd find a different painter.  Mine matched the paint perfectly.  I get nothing but compliments on the paint...

I work for Dupont. I show a Copper Canyon in our system for 2008 Harley Davidson paint code CAS. Any Dupont automotive paint store should be able to mix this color for you. If you are not sure where one is , go to pc.dupont.com and use the locator with your zip code. I dont see anything for the Stardust Silver. We make alot of Harley colors and my expeirence is they match very well. Hope this helps.
