Here in Belgium, the cost for a FLTRUSE is 37.995 euros including the V.A.T. of 21%.
In France, the price is 37.000 euros.
In Holland,it is over 43.000 euros
Next week,I'll make the tour of the dealers for trading my 08 FLHTCUSE for a CVO Road Glide.

Another unfortunate here in the UK, our VAT goes up on Jan 1st 2011 from 17.5% to 20%, so my bike will cost £600 more.

What can you do

Sometimes I think that Guy Fawkes had the right idea.

Actually, I'm going to write to the country manager for the UK to see if he gives a chit!. ( I do want some bits for the bike :coolblue:)

I'll let you know his response.

Most definitely.  Her, Top Gear and the Falklands armada are my favorite post-war British exports.

Well, the plot thickens over here in the UK.

My dealer tells me that my bike is due 'any day', great.

But, how come a another dealer has one for sale on ebay????

You would have thought that, as I deposited and ordered on the 15th August 2010, I'd get my bike before a stock bike for another dealer?

Have just told my dealer, I either get my bike by the end of March or, yes you heard it, I'm going to cancel and get something else, probably not a Harley.

Its a bike I really want, but the whole process has been soured by the inept handling of Harley in the UK, and frankly, its leaving a nasty taste in the mouth.

We'll see.

Take care all.

Kind of reminds me of the problems we had here in the US during the 90's....on a positive side, re-sales are awesome  :2vrolijk_21:

Great news... hope they aren't just getting your hopes up, just to kick you in the sack again!

Look forward to hearing it was worth the wait!

I hope so, but experience here in the UK, is that the exclusivity portrayed by Harley is an illusion, I know of 5 dealers with the Grey/Black on the floor, with no takers, and know a couple with Frosted Ivory as well.

The roadglide has never been a big seller over here.

I'm not phased by that, as I hope this one is a keeper, so residual value is irrelevant. So long as it stays reliable :nixweiss:

We'll see, I probably would have cancelled by now, but have Fullsac kit, including cams in my garage, so I'll keep the faith for now.

Thanks all

Good luck with it Simon.  (Be forewarned, the rest is just made up to twist your tail)  But with there still being no government in Belgium they're not doing any exports.  So you may not got a bike until the Flemish and the Walloons learn to get along :o .
