Well, got a surprise the other day. I guess this is like "Crying Wolf" in reverse.
When I had surgery three weeks ago, the doc said it didn't look like there was any cancer, but they would get a full pathology report to make sure. I figured that was just the usual doctor talk.
The doc said that the pathology report was "complicated". They had to send it to the University of Pittsburg. The report showed that there was cancer... in fact, two types of cancer.
So, I will be having surgery again next week... probably Friday. This really stinks... now I have to pay the co-pay or deductible or whatever again $$$$ (wife says I'm too much of a tightwad).
If this surgery goes as well as the last, I will be up and running again within a couple of days. From what I have been told, I will have to have a single dose of radioactive iodine sometime after surgery. This will stay in my system for a few days.
Then.... hopefully.... for real this time... this will be over and done. I know there will probably be a few test in the future to make sure that there is no cancer hiding somewhere else, but shouldn't be a bid deal.
Anyway, I'm not to concerned. Way too busy to spend anytime worrying about this. Will try to give an update when the dust settles... maybe even a pic of the fresh scar for Don
