Yeah, but it's the more comfortable of the two, will go just as fast, and has all the necessary whistles and bells that most of the 09 SERG folks tried to accomplish by spending thousands more. The only thing they could have done to the 11s was added the LED rear fender and the extended bags....but I'm not going to let that stop me from getting one of those "Old man's bikes".
I'll wave comfortably at you as we pass on the road.

If $$$ was not a limiting factor, I'd own both the FLTRUSE and the FLTRSE3. One for touring and one for banging 'round town and day trips. However, in my case $$$ is a limiting factor and so I've been more than happy with my decision to trade up from a '07 FLTR to my Slate/Black '11 FLTRUSE.
Regarding the original post.
As I have been stopping at various dealers along my road trip from Albuquerque, NM to Kalamazoo, MI, I have been checking out their stock of FLTRUSEs and asking prices. All so far have been asking MSRP plus Freight and Setup. Other than the dealer who I purchased from in Santa Fe who asked for a $2k premium. After dealing on my trade, I believe I got close to the $2k back out of my trade. I didn't care for this approach but I guess I was motiviated to purchase. (Hmm.. I need to control these urges).
Also, regarding the value of the low mileage '09 FLTRSE3 - sales on eBay over the last month have been in the range of $26.5k to a high of about $29k. These were all very low mileage bikes (3.5k miles or less).
While it sounds like you have decided to hang on to the FLTRSE3 for now, if you did really want a new FLTRUSE, I'd recommend selling the bike on eBay first (soon before it gets any older) and they finding a dealer like Mann HD in Indiana or Perry HD in Michigan (both have Slate/Black in stock and will sell at MSRP, taxes lower in IN I believe).
Good luck,
Simon
