I like probably everyone here has debated the windshield choice for the 2009 models. While at the dealership Saturday they took me back for a viewing of the 2011 model CVO Road Glide Ultra. I had dibs on the bike if I choose one and while I agree its a nice bike I just didnt feel the need to change. I was interested though in what HD called "All New Windshield Design" 16" reduced angle windshield, lightly smoked?? The bike I viewed was a Red/Black for a loyal customer that had another choice of windshield for his bike so we met later that afternoon and I purchased the windshield and gaskets from him direct. I had been using the 12" Klockwerks and tried the 16" Klockwerks but never got out of the subdivison with the 16 it just hit me right in the center of my sight picture and had NO tint. Guys and Girls let me say this windshield is the BEST add on I have on the bike period and from one fool to another my workorder on the bike was over 14k so I have a few add ons! Heck I have just heard my radio for the first time LOL. If you look at all the WS on the market everyone works all around different angles, tints, shapes, etc... but I will give HD credit for this one. I will add some photos as well. Glad to have my 09 as well. Safe riding

PMG1, how tall are you?  Depending on your height, would you consider yourself to be long waisted?

I ask that because, like you, I too have been trying lots of different shields with some working better than others.

Right now I have a stock height '09 Road Glide standard clear windshield and it works better than most, but I've been eying the new SEURG shield as a possible upgrade.

I'm 5'-13" but only have a 31" inseam and tend to sit in the saddle like someone 5'-15" or so.  My son is 5'-16" and if we're in my car with a bench seat my head will hit the roof and his won't.

Thanks for giving us some information on the new shield.  I'm sure others will want to know your height for comparison as well.

PMG, Thanks for the pictures on the new windshield. I was at a dealer this weekend and saw the WS and was wondering how it would look. I've got a 10" Windvest and have been looking to go higher. Been thinking 14" but you seem ok with the 16".

That actually looks half decent on your 2009 SERG.....might be worth me considering for a touring screen.

I'm 6'3 and do have a long torso. Like I mentioned I tried the 16" Klockwerks and knew right away ("NO WAY") that would work because it was over my eyes. Hey I like to get in the wind "a little". Funny thing is when I sit in the saddle I can't reach out and touch the WS and my sleeve length is 34/35! It's great. While at lunch at Smoky Mountain HD a group of us were at the table while they were installing the WS and when the service manager drove it over we all commented "It looks like its built for the RG nose". Again it is lightly tinted and swept back to 16". Let me know if anyone else has any luck with this WS. Thanks

Thanks for the report.  It sounds like you and I probable are in about the same area of eyes/windshield line of view.

I may looking into one of the new SEURG shields with this new information.

Has anyone got the part number for this  windshield?  Can't find it in the accessory catalog, assume it is screaming eagle specific.  Tried the wind splitter last week. Can't hear the radio for the buffeting and that is with a J and M system wide open.

Our dealer looked it up in the 2011 CVO catalog. Seems like it was $300 make sure and get the new WS gaskets.

Love the windshield. Are those vented lower fairings? Did you order them color matched? I have a 09 RGSE also and would like to add them to my bike. Thanks for any info.

Yes all extra parts were ordered from HD with the bike so it was factory painted. I just ordered the King Tour pak as it came on the 2011 CVO  Ultra RG in the silver as well. Did not vent the lowers when it's hot it's just hot but great temps now.

You might look into a Clearview meduim windshield. I've had on previous RG and now this one they are really good. No buffeting. I'm 6-4, 34" inseam using Mustang touring seat. Very happy.
