This is the first group website (of any kind) that I have ever joined. I met the moderator and feel he is a standup guy who does this for the love of motorcycle.
My first bike nine years ago was literally a used CHP Kawasaki 1200 interceptor. I bought it at the CHP auction with an ex-cop LAPD bike cop. Not a bad first ride where people get out of your way and get to see over a lot of cars.
Sold that cop bike after a few months and I just bought a 2008 Electra Glide Classic (used from eagle rider tours) five months ago.
Since then I have had a guy jump into a crosswalk while crossing with a glass of Chablis. I hit the brakes, came to stop, bike fell over and broke my ankle. Almost tried to continue the ride and thought better of it.
Dropped the bike the couple of weeks (see the thread “what would you do”) within 100 yards of first accident and no injury this time. Both accidents were ¼ mile from my house.
So there it is.
