Hitting your horn has to be like shooting a gun----all instinct. And it gets that way with lots of practice. I can't find my horn unless I look at it.  And I don't feel the practice is worth it because it's not loud enough to be heard usually.

I honk when I think I need to in order to avoid getting squashed.  You guys still running stock horns need to get another one.  The stockers are useless and your life is worth more.  I got one of these and it is darned loud.  Mini Beast 5.

Exact same horn I have.  Riding on the interstate I keep the button covered if I'm around traffic.  I have had more than 1 cager start to merge into me only to swerve away after a blast.  Braking in that situation could be more hazardous due to following traffic.  I ride 10 miles of I95 every day into work.

Be honest. How many times in your moment of rage have you given them the LEFT TURN SIGNAL !! instead of the horn? Ooops. By then it's too late. Practice practice.

I never "think" about using the horn. It just happens when my instincts send a signal to my left thumb. I have no problem with it. My instincts let me know if I can thumb the horn and not risk altering other tasks at hand.

Riding a motorcycle like playing other action sports is best done by reacting.

Way too many times, thats why I always have my thumb on the horn.  Took some getting use to but now it's just second nature.  (sometimes I hit the horn when I'm trying to signal left!!)

In traffic I have the horn button covered....I try to "keep moving" when in traffic so as to not spend any time in a blind-spot.....I spend time in both camps...depends......
