TW7h from 255
« on: October 06, 2010, 04:09:34 PM »

Well I went and Gambled again. After a good deal of research (much on this site)I switched out the stock 255 cam in my 2010 110. Switched to the Woods tw7h. Many on the site recommended that cam. The service mgr at my dealership wanted it after reviewing my alternatives. AND THE RESULTS ARE!!! AW POO >:( >:(
For information, at this time I changed the cam only and included a full dynotune. The bike previously had the Bub 2into 1 into2 with the stealth mufflers, Harley ventilator ac. and full tune.
Results with 255 cam -- hp 95.8  torque 104.92
                 tw7h cam --hp100.38 torque 103.44
While the results were on different dynos, they were both on "CONSERVATIVE" dynos. Both done by experienced tuners.
As you can see I picked up a few HP. The goal however was more useable torque. Lost a couple ft/lbs.
Should have listened to Dewey (Deweysheads). He told me the tw7 would not work. Fuelmoto, Bob Woods and others said it wood. Just tellin it like it is.
Bottom line. The bike still runs very well, but not much if any improvement.

Run it up to 220 + cold cranking, and you'll pick up a few on the torque side. ::)  ???

I had much better results with my TW7H cam install after I took my road glide  to someone that knew how to tune it. :2vrolijk_21:

I went with the Rush 2 inch Slip Ons a Super Tuner and the Woods TW7 and my dyno was 99.8 HP and 108.9 TQ this on my 2009 SEUC. Just traded for the 2011 SERGU and looking for cams pipes and some improvement over the last bike.

Those numbers seem kind of low...I don't know much about the differences in dynos, but I put the tw7 in my new 2011 cvo street glide with the d&d exhaust & tts tuner and my dyno sheet came back 104+ HP and 120+tq. I am very satisfied with how mine turned out....

What D&D exhaust would that be and was that tune result in SAE (corrected for conditions)?

I have the D&D 2-into-1 with the big bore baffle. Now I'm not sure if that is considered the boarzilla baffle, but I originally ordered the pipe with the "wrapped baffle", supposedly the middle baffle as far as loudness, but after hearing a bike with the big bore baffle I called and changed my order. I can check my work order when I get back home to see exactly how it was listed. Now as far as the dyno, like I said, I don't know anything other than what the print-out they gave me said. I have never had much luck posting pictures on any forums, but I can try to get it scanned in and give it a shot, or else email it to you if you are interested.

i talked to d&d last week and the newer concentric baffle is only for the stock 95 engine,  anything bigger or modified you need the wrapped perferated baffle  or the perferated baffle  power is the same for the last 2  baffles just the noise level is different,  dont know if your if the first,  if it is it could explain a lot

Look inside
No need to chase the paperwork
The performance baffle is perforated and the standard and quiet are rolled expanded metal.
The performance baffle is loud and is likely going to hp slightly better but the quiet baffle is a better choice for yours. Show us the timing and AFR numbers in the 90-100 map cells.

I have the TW7s, D&D Fat Cat and TTS on my 07 SE Ultra for 105 HP and 114 TQ.
Gets 38-40 MPG depending on the ride.
Doc did my tune in Florida.

Hope you can figure out why the numbers are so conservative.

OK, back home, looked at pipe & order ticket, Boarzilla baffle, confirmed in pipe itself. Going to try and attach pics of dyno sheet, don't have a scanner at home, so hopefully the pics come through. As far as SAE correction, no idea, like I said, I only know what is on the sheet...here goes nothing on the pics!

My numbers may be conservative because of the pipe. No question the d&d flows more and the heads on the 110 may need more flow. On a previous bike the borazillas got me 10 more hp and torque then the fat cats.
The point of my post however was not my exact numbers. It was that the tw7 did not actually provide much if any benefit over the 255 in a cam only exchange. I believe the fueling cam may have been a better bet.
As far as the pipes, I get as good or better results as identical bikes using fullsac head pipe and baffles in this area. I have seen my buddies dynos (255 cam)
