TwoLane....I'm not running them off the headlight circuit...I'm running them off the fender tip light circuit which is completely seperate and very unloaded (since we don't have a fender tip lamp) with a 15amp fuse.

You don't need to remove the fairing to do the headlight....just pull the light itself...much easier.

I did yesterday and I placed the H9 in the high beam....your instructions were very clear.......when I had the headlamp off I was looking for that empty connector (fender lights) but I didn't find....I imagine that I have to take the fairing off......it will be other task.....Thanks again

Besides doing what 2lane has suggested, you could also use an ignition load eliminator that HD sells.

Yeah you might have to search around a bit...like Arctic said I think it's taped to the headlight harness.

Well for those that don't want to go to the HID setup, here is a bit cheaper alternative.

Wow!!!! :o This is the reason I hate riding my scooter at night. Now that I'm older, can't see as well, and seems these critters (deer) are more active it just scares the hell out of me to be riding a scooter at night. [smiley=nervous.gif]

Yeah the guy I bought this house from told me he had 3 friends killed in deer/bike strikes right down the street from here (all at different times).  So I've been real careful riding around here at night....and if I see the slightest movement off the road somewhere I'm on the brakes.  This last one I thought I was safe, riding pretty close behind a car, they'd never jump out on me there.....WRONG, he came right out between me and the car.....good thing these bikes got good brakes....

Higher wattage and HID lights are Great things are they really needed? Are they for everyone?

I don't think they are any bigger, in fact we have a completely different headlight on the '06 than you do on the '04's....same size but different configuration I'm sure.  LOL
