Well, found out on this trip to Daytona that the on-board security alarm really works.  Parked in front of my motel room in a little town in Georgia, put the cover over the SEEG, set the alarm and blissfully went into a deep sleep (with pistol in close proxmity, of course).  About 3:30am the bike alarm went off full tilt, I awoke from a deep sleep, sprung into the parking lot to find a pick-up truck w/ a couple still inside only inches from my bike.  They had bumped the right saddlebag hard enough to set the alarm off to the continuous mode, not the single chirp.  Left a small mark on the rear edge of the bag, most of which polished out. (Spyder was pissed at the time and not because of being awoken) The cowboy was parking by 'feel', but as any of you know it takes a pretty good jolt to set the alarm off on the factory setting. (I can unlock and go into my saddlebags with the alarm set and it won't even give the warning chirp, much less go into full alarm mode.  So, for those of you wondering......these alarms work pretty well.  Anyone else had any experience good or bad w/ the alarms on these CVO's?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  spyder

Had both good and bad experiences with the HD alarm.  Good....works every time.  Bad....I use it so seldom that when I do I always seem to forget about it and without fail set down, pick it up and entertain a usually large group of people...

Since my last Ultra Classic, I've had both bikes programmed where the alarm sets itself automatically, thirty seconds after I turn the ignition off.  So I'm used to it being set.  There's always that place that you're going to run into for just a second or two (convience store, gas station, etc.) so I like that convience of the alarm self setting.

Spyder I think they're designed to go off if somebody were to pick the bike up off the kickstand and not just bumped. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That sucks about the guy bumping into your bike......did you bump into his head with the pistola?  An eye for an eye, right? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I must commend you on your self-control. [smiley=2vrolijk_20.gif] I'd probably be asking to use the Internet from jail to see if I could get my CVOHarley friends to bail me out. You never said if they guy was willing to pay for his stupidity? [smiley=zstupid.gif] Since you stated that "most" of it polished out that means there is still something left of this idiots mistake.

I had a an unusual event with the alarm on my cherry. I had parked my bike for the night at the hotel and covered.  Had a really bad thunder storm blow in which blew over my buddies dresser and would have blown my over as well if the wind was coming from the opposite direction.  Fortunately, our bikes were cabled together, but for the bulk of the storm, it was repeatedly being tripped by the high winds.

You should also change the code. That is also in the manual. Unless the dealer changed it for you it comes from the factory with a default setting of al 1's.
