You sure about the '03's?? I've got a buddy that has an '03 SERK and don't remember seeing a number plate "___ of ___" and the MoCo website is saying that approximately 3600 ('03 SERK) were made. With the extended production run they had for the 100th Anniversary I don't believe they were numbered. :nixweiss:

I never owned an '03, but it is my understanding that only the '03 silver & black "100th Anniversary" painted bikes were numbered???  :nixweiss:

Can't say for sure, but that is what I was led to believe.

I have an 03 Silver and Black Classic in the garage and it's not numbered.
I could say I wish it was but it would be no more valuable to me if it was.

::) ::) ::)  Now that's funny  ::) ::) ::)

Sometimes value is based on a number.
Most of the time value is based on the passion someone has for their bike.
A bike your passionate about can be priceless!

I stand corrected... Just goes to show you that "you can't always believe what you hear",
unless of course you hear the sweet sound of a Harley rumbling down the road - Then you can believe it's a real bike that just went by.   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for straightening me out.  Now I feel even more special with my 105th Anniversary numbered bike. (please see reply #6)

As I understand it, using your VIN # you can call H-D Customer Assistance, work your way through their automated system until you get somebody in archives (I believe) track it's date of manufacture and match it up with how many had been produced at that point and then find out how many were built for the entire model year and you'd know what number yours was. You can do this for any vehicle with any Mfgr provided they are willing to spend a little time with you on the phone. The reason this is possible is lawsuits. Say you get hurt in an accident and it comes out that a particular part on your bike was the cause. If you sue H-D, they're going to 1st check to make sure that particular part was installed by them when the vehicle was Mfg'd originally. So they have a very detailed tracking system. Having said all that however, unless H-D designates your particular model as "Numbered Limited Production", being able to say that you have # 350 out of 2400 means nothing. BUT, in years when H-D makes mid-year changes, knowing when your vehicle was built will tell you whether you have a pre change vehicle or a post change vehicle.

I'm thinking they are still "HAND BUILT", but by many more hands.

I'm thinking they are still "HAND BUILT", but by many more hands. I have a 2009 cvo fatbob red and blk. the proof of hand building is on my tank in the form of finger prints under the clear coat they are highly visible in the bright sun ... the new tank is waiting at the dealership to be put on as soon as i get a chance to take her up there

Does anyone know of a place you can get one of these made?  I wan't to make one that looks like it was factory but just says 1 of 1 on my custom FLHTCUSE5.  I'm making a custom piece to get flush mounted in the aftermarket dash with the gold key and either a bar and shield or if I can find a way a 1 of 1 numbered badge.
