Mcdonaldroadcapt, my bike 09SEUC seems to have most of the typical valve train noises that a lot of guys on the site talk about. It is quiet when cold or hot at idle, at about 2200 RPMs very quiet. A little more valve noise between 2200 and 2800 RPMs. At about 80MPH in 6th it is very quiet. So far I am keeping my fingers crossed. However,I had a wierd thing happen twice.(Naturally I was several hundred miles from home). I started my bike ( both times it was between 65 to 70 degrees outside.( Just for the record I use Redline 20/60. ) I let the bike warm up and took off. Everything was normal and then all of a sudden one lifter started to make noise like a small block chevy with a bent push rod. I backed off the throttle and then speeded up and it went away in about 15 to 20 seconds. I went to the Dealer, I mean Stealer , I bought it from and they said after a brief test ride that eveything sounded normal. The first time this happened was at about 3500 miles then it happened at about 8000 miles. I only have about 8700 miles total on it since I usually ride my 95 Heritage locally. I am thinking some small particle of debri made the lifter collapse or it is just a crappy lifter. I think I will change them all out when something breaks and they have to do warranty repair ( hopefully not) or when I get about 20k and change out all the cam chain tensioners and chains, or maybe go to gear drives if my crank is straight enough.( I am considering this a maintaince procedure after what I have read on the site today.) Sorry to make such a long post, but I am baffled as to why this happened so intermittently and then pumped itself up. Has anyone else had this same thing happen? Other then this I have no complaints. Any insites, opinions. etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks CAHDBIKER
