I am patiently awaiting an answer....Do I buy the HDBomm or not...?

and I see that Jim has a vested interest in this as well :)

I honestly think we will see that the HDBomm is needed for a seamless integration at a rather cheap price.

OK folks I talked to Jazzinjd yesterday and we discovered what was going on with his 2011.

Let me say that now I know why the installation and operation instructions for the Navigation Interface Module P/N 76000024 states;

When no BT headset is paired with the Zumo, disable the BT pairing even for mobile phones.

It seams that the Nav module can (and does) intermittently activate when a phone call comes thru the Bluetooth function of the Zumo. I think this happens if the ring tone closely resembles the turn prompt pre-signal tone generated by the Zumo (Road Tech version) prior to a turn prompt being present. This activates the Nav module; the module thinks there is a turn prompt coming up.

He was able to hear the caller because the Nav module interrupted all other radio functions and routed the audio output from the GPS to the headset. This is what is supposed to happen if the audio output was a turn prompt. He was able to talk because the built in microphone on the face of the Zumo was picking up his voice. I should say that he was not moving at the time he was stuck at a red light but as soon the traffic cleared and he started moving he lost the call. This is what I thought was happening but I just wanted to make sure by talking with him. He is a nice guy by the way.

He does not have the Y connector installed or the Auxiliary cable installed to the Auxiliary input of the radio.

To reiterate if you want to make or take a phone call utilizing the GPS Bluetooth interface you will need to install the Y connector and Auxiliary cable and install a helmet microphone interface.

Jim,
It was so nice to discuss the solutions to the phone issues. Thanks for the cowling info and explaining the bluetooth.
Have a great day.

Hey guys,
i'm a harley driver from germany( 2011 cvo e-glide ).First you have a very nice forum here with very interesting postings.
You say, that i need a y-Cable and a HDbomm to use my phone by bluetooth with the zumo 660.
The address, where i can buy a HDbomm is mentioned above, but what kind of y-adapter is needed?  Do you have a Part-number??
Could you help me?

I asked the guys at the J&M tent in Sturgis how to do this also.  They shoeed and tried to sell me a kit, about $345, and they would install it.  His run down of the parts and process prompted me to walk out.  Now I wish I had done it.  I spend a lot of time on the road and it would of been nice... Oh well either another rally or next year!
