'09 Ultra CVO. Going to purchase 2 sets of heated gear (gloves and jacket liner) for me and my wife. Any ideas how to hook these up with a clean look? Really don't won't to get into anything to technical but I also don't won't wires hanging all over my bike. Suggestions anyone? I'm not a electrical guru!
I have 2 connections for mine, both under the seat. One running to the front left corner which can easily be tucked away for the summer, the other is tie wrapped to the saddlebag guard for my wife. I keep that one a bit more visible as I use that connector for double duty as my battery tender hookup as well.
You should be ok with just jacket liners and gloves, but if you intend in the future to go the entire set, meaning pants, shoe inserts, jackets and gloves, you will find you will be really close to the limit of what the bike will handle with both suits on. Last year heading to Key West for NYE, I noticed my battery voltage sitting around 11V. I started turning things off and found if I kept my 55W running lights off, I was ok, and voltage came back up to it's usual 13.2V. Had I not noticed, I'd have been in trouble once the battery was drained. FWIW, I highly recommend the over pants, rather than the liners, if you decide to add them to your ensemble.
