                                      NUMERO UNO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a dealer less than 4 miles from my front door but would rather drive the 90 miles to Black Diamond and deal with them in Service Department Issues any day of the week

I still make the trip to Territorial Harley in Yuma. Bobby treats me right. Before he bought the business, both he and Owner Jim took care of me for many years.

There is a dealer ~4 miles from my house too.  They have either Miss diagnosed or damaged or in one case replaced SE specific parts with the wrong non SE ones, every single time i have used them.  Now,  that being said, they always tried to make up for it.   They have given me some freebies that i really appreseated and needed, but have never made up for the thousands they have cost me.

Like the time they replaced a wheel that was pealing chrome, out of warranty, but then damaged the new wheel installing the tire.  I could go on, but im not here to bash anyone.

I avoid having anything done at my dealer.  I am still under 7 year warranty, but will avoid the dealership for anything but catastrophic engine failure. Have not been back to local service dept for 1.5 years.  some say they have improved. I would rather spend my money on cool new parts rather than test that theory.

I buy parts there when i need it now.   I am learning to do it myself

I would rate my dealer, Smoky Mountain Harley First rate, number 1.

Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Store is nice, lots of bike, lots of motor clothes and lots a parts.
Motorcycle sales has been good time me, never more than MSRP, some times less.
Service has always been good.
Most everyone working there knows me by name.
Owner does nice stuff for the customers.

I stopped in at SMH-D when I was on vacation this summer. They were awesome!

There are three dealers within an hours ride of me. The nearest one is OK for parts and clothes, but when I tried to set up an appointment for my recall, the son's owner said, "take it back to where you bought it." Then he set up an appointment and said it would be in the shop for 3-4 weeks. I was pissed, as we bought hubby's CVO and did all our parts and clothes shopping there. I just said that if they had the bike I wanted, I would have purchased it from them. I contaced L/A Harley and they set up an appointment for the next week and took only 6 hrs to complete the work. Another time, I had checking in the tire and L/A was to replace it. After an hour of waiting for them to change my front tire, they came to me and said they couldn't remove the wheel as the axle was seized. They ordered new parts and repaired it under warrentee, after an argument w/MOCO, as I had never removed the wheel, and received it that way from the factory. L/A HD has an excellent staff and knowledgable techs. I feel as thought I am part of their extended family every time I walk through the door!

The HD Dealer in Pueblo, CO  OUTPOST did an excellent job of selling me two HD's however, their service department was less then adequate, at one point blaming my problems on Operator Error.  The result was loss of business from me for future bikes (including my 2010 SEUC) and I will not recommend them to anyone else.

Both of the HD Shops in Colorado Springs are rip-offs.  Would not recommend them to anyone.

I've bought 2 bikes from Big St Charles powersports in St Charles Missouri . Got a great deal on the 2009 SG and 15000 miles later they gave me more than I expected for my trade on the 2011 sesg2. Employees are very attentive and remember me by name. I've sent many people there and have never had anybody unhappy with their deal!

I forgot to mention there are two other dealers much closer to me than SMH-D.  However I do not use them, and one of those two I would never use even if it meant pushing my bike home.

So let me start off by saying that I usually don't say much on a product or place of business unless I'm really happy or really pissed.  In this case, I'm happy to report that I've been extremely pleased.

I have bought two bikes from Iron Steed HD in Vacaville, CA and give them  :2thumbsup:  While I'm sure not everyone will be happy with them; as there is always an exception, here's my experience thus far.

The people are great and thats where it all starts.  I haven't had one issue with them yet, and I've given them plenty of opportunity to expose any limitations.

I have had to take each bike in for one warranty item so far, and they fixed it quickly.  Alarm battery failed twice in the springer and I developed a leak in the Limited at around 100 miles due to bad factory assembly of the starter o-ring in the primary.  While they were fixing the Limited, they found the compensator wasn't doing well and replaced that as well.   I hadn't even had a chance to leave the shop after dropping it off and they already had her opened up and diagnosed.

Also, I have done a few SO to install upgrades.  Always done well by me.  Never felt pressured on anything and they put up with my constant inquiries.  I check in almost 3-4 times a week, as they are only 5 miles away.  Sometimes if I need to get a quick ride and it's not really all that great outside, I just ride there, look around, and ride back.  :P

I've dealt with sales, the motor clothes dept, parts, and service.  They are all ran separately, but at the same time, act as a single unit.  Sometimes I feel bad because they will go out of their way to do extra to exceed my expectations.  For example, order parts and they give me an eta.  Two days later I get a call and find out that one of the parts is on BO for a month or more later, but they called around and located one at x dealer and made arrangements to have it shipped in - sometimes from clear across the country.  This has happened to me with stuff I've ordered out of service and the motor clothes.

As far as I can tell, everyone that has dropped in seems to be happy with the dealership.  What I appreciate the most is seeing that they give each customer the same level of top service no matter what.  I haven't seen any bias towards anyone given any of the common factors like how much $ they've dropped, or who they know, time of relation, etc..

Anyhow, would recommend it to anyone even if it's just to stop in and use the facilities.  :D

Without politics, I want to know what you guys think of your dealers? I am under the impression that MOCO doesn't really care for the type of service given to customer as long as dealers sell bikes and achieves targets. What do you think?

Near me, both Fraziers H-D and Killer Creek H-D are very good dealers. I bought my '95 Evo FLHTP at Killer. Their service departments are both very competent and responsive. I've had work done at both. And yeah, they still have guys who know Evos!

However, I bought my new 2012 CVO SG at H-D of Macon, Greg Sassaman's dealership, and they were FANTASTIC! Jerry Green, their Sales Manager, was very upfront with me on the phone before the sale, and when I was there. He told me flat out what they would give me for the 2008 V-Star 1100 I was trading in. Unfortunately, it was just wholesale because Asian cruisers aren't worth crap (in fact, they ARE crap!), but they gave me what the wholesaler gave them without any markup. Greg took my bike on its test ride himself to make sure it was perfect, and you just don't find that level of customer service much anymore. I stayed and chatted with him for over two hours about all manner of things last Friday evening after we did the paperwork. I didn't even get to the dealership until 6:30 - 30 minutes after their normal closing time - and I was still there chatting with Greg and his wife until after 9:30 that evening. They made me feel like they truly appreciated me and my business, and Greg was in no hurry to leave that night after the deal was done. We talked about his racing history, his sons and my daughters, our mutual drumming backgrounds, and lots of other stuff. He is a very interesting and genuine guy. He was as interested in me and my life as I was in his.

I would buy from Greg again in a heartbeat, and I would highly recommend H-D of Macon without hesitation. I paid list and not a penny more, because that's the way they do business there. Jerry told me they sell CVOs at MSRP on the phone before I ever went down there, they were true to their word. Notably, there was never any pressure to buy any extended warranty, either. The closer simply asked me if I was interested in talking about one, I said I was, and we talked about it. I ended up buying the 7-year plan because I am going to hold onto this bike the way Warren Buffet holds onto stocks - forever - but at no time was there ever any pressure to buy it. We had a very frank conversation about the merits of an extended warranty because of all of the electronics on this beast, banging up a tire or a rim (the Agitator wheels on this bike cost $749 each! I looked in the P&A catalog myself), and other things... and I made up my own mind. The closer didn't seem to be at all concerned in selling me the EW - he seemed to simply want me to know the facts about it. Very refreshing!

I can't speak to their service department because I frankly haven't had any service done there, and I don't want to speak with no experience to back it up. They did do a fine job on the prep and my orientation to this very powerful bike (compared to my old Evo, which I am also keeping), and went over just about everything on the bike with me. Greg's son Brett runs the service department there, and racing is in their blood going back a long time - so I wouldn't have any qualms about having service done there. It's not all that likely I will though - because they are 2 1/2 hours from me, and Fraziers is only about 15 minutes away and Killer Creek is only about 30 minutes away. I will probably have most periodic service done around here… but I might take a spin down there and hang out there and annoy Greg some more when a major service interval comes around!

Just my 2 cents...

When at home in Indiana, Hoosier Harley-Davidson in Elkhart is the only dealer I use. Super nice people who all do an awesome job. Really can't say enough good things about them. We get down to Tennessee about every two years on vacation, and we always stop in at Smoky Mountain HD, the shop in Pigeon Forge saved our vacation in 2009, southern hospitality at it's best!

Not worth a shyte!   The service writer snottily tells me to read my owner's manual to find out what's included in the 80k km (50k miles)....nothing past the 40k km service is listed in there except that the neck bearing should be removed and inspected at 80 k km (which they DID NOT DO). After reading the "front brake' thread...I check my rear brakes because they seemed 'weaker' than before...the reservoir is empty and the cover is not very tight.....front brake fluid is pretty dark. They changed both tires and the wheel bearings (bearings under warranty)......when I took the saddle bags off to have a look at their handywork, I see grease on the rim...under closer inspection I find grease on the rear rotor as well.  The front brakes have about 75% left...the rears, 20% tops! Clutch had to be re-adjusted...me and two others (a bud rode the bike as well as Russel from Lonewolf) agreed that it was f'd up. Stated to the service writer that the front end was 'clunky and loose and dives under braking', I wanted Progressives and new seals with new oil........all they did was the oil, test drove it and stated it was OK.....not really much improvement. No report on the condition of any wear/remaining life on any parts was given. The checking of the switches and lights that are to be done on EVERY service were apparently NOT done....the 'spot' switch does not illuminate. But the service writer did berate me for using Red Line Heavy and Amsoil!!

The owner offered to pick up the bike to do the neck bearings...I declined!

5% OVER CDN MSRP. for accessories!

A drive belt for an '08 Ultra (fits many bikes for a few years!) not in stock.

I have found an Indy shop that comes highly recomended (they changed my drive belt on the July 1st weekend) and I hope will do  extended warranty work as well.
I only have one dealer on the Island....and will now only use it to try on clothes so I know what size to order!
