looking for advice for a nice resort in St. Pete or Clearwater ,Fla. going down there in March 2011

shipping bikes to Daytona area from Phila.Pa. 7 of us and riding down to Clearwater area- wouldn,t mind some nice ride ideas too. we did the Everglades and the Keys for many years so something else could be fun ?! :carrot:

What exactly are you looking for.? Lodging, things to see and do, places to eat, places to ride.?

a nice hotel to kick back at the end of the day-walking distance to some cool bars etc. not looking to penny pinch. went on line for some cycle rides in that area and got some ok ideas for rides but, would rather have a local in the know guide me--thanks

U prob already have rode it, but the loop around Tampa Bay with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge as the Southern end is great. Also if u go North a little the Silver River area around Ocala is pretty. Rolling hills & horse farms.

have not ridden them--thanks for the advice-----hey Gettinold--is there any nice beach resort hotels near Ibor City?? was there years ago--do they still shut the street down at nite for the bar seen ?

Nothing that you would want to stay at other than the Hard Rock. The Sheraton Sand Key on Clearwater Beach is nice. I can give you some routes to ride and places to stop and eat along the way. Keep me informed when your coming and how many, maybe I can get away a do a little riding with you.        Dave

Reds,
 I would also recomend the Resorts on Sand Key they are nice & near everything.
I have a nice ride for you, a lot of back roads all the way up to a place called Bayport Inn Restaurant & Bar (old biker hangout) you will have to ride some on US 19 but most of the ride is on back roads that most bikers here don't even know about.  
Let me know when you will be in town and maybe we could put a ride together with other local CVO board members. If we cannot set up a run with other CVO members, I of course will post the route.
