South Richmond HOG had 70+ people on our annual Polar Bear, about 60 bikes.  Temps were high 50s by the time we were heading home.  Still had snow on the ground in places tho.

Y'all did get me to thinking - and that's a scarey thing.  IF you could pick anywhere in the world to retire to  - where would be the most hospitable location for year round riding?  I think our high plains arid conditions are great.  There are days - just a few - when the bikes can't bust snow drifts - but the rest of the year only really requires that I dress for the occasion.  Any thoughts on the subject?

Keep it in the garage and find something else To do.  ;D   You can ride year round in any of the US southern states, but being able to live there is the challenge. :2vrolijk_21:

I lived down south for awhile - MS and LA - but I found there were more "rain" days then we had "snow" days up here.  I don't like riding in the rain - too much work cleaning up after a ride - and it was particularly ugly if you lived on the coast where the road contained saltwater.

There must be a perfect "latitude" for motorcycles - not too far north, but not too far south -

We did a New Years Day Ride from the dealership in Matthews NC.
36 bikes with 45 people.
Rain was a concern but never happened.
A good time was had by all.
