What's the thinking...with or without the packing using the fullsac baffles on the stock CVO mufflers?

I have done one set with just the stock packing & one set with the stock packing & and additional wrap of packing.

I really can't tell any difference in sound.

Both have 1 3/4" baffles

Leave the packing to help prevent discoloring of the pipe

I would also recommend leaving in the packing , nice idle,  sounds good when cranking in, just right at freeway speeds. (1.75 inch ). CAHDBIKER

Just finished installing 2.0 power cores left in the packing and the rumble is perfect dosnt sound like a honda anymore sounds good once you get on it
does anyone know if the OE ecm can handle this minor change should i just take it easy for a while so it can adjust to the reduced back pressure
cant afford to do the x pipe and master tune yet

I left the packing in when I first installed the 2" baffles, took it out about 2 months later and couldn't tell any difference in the sound.

I ran baffles only for a few months with no problems before I did the x-pipe and tts.

I always recommend leaving the packing in place. A little quieter and smoother. Personal preference on my part.
I always go for the quieter option if there's no performance compromise.
No problem running muffler cores only with out remapping. You have only gained 2 HP with the cat still intact.
