Goldwing question for anyone
« on: January 04, 2011, 04:36:39 PM »

My Goldwing buddy was changing the oil and as he was refilling it, the plastic tube he had on the oil jug fell off into his crankcase.   After I got done laughing, I told him I would try to help.  Anybody got any ideas for this.  We can't see anything down the oil fill hole, how else can you get access to the crank case of a Goldwing.   BTW, what would we do on our 110" 's if this happened? Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone knows anything.

I really can't help but just wanted to say that I ran into a guy on a road king in a gas station somewhere in South Dakota and we was fishing for his dip stick which came off the stock hd cap and fell in the oil tank. I was on my way home so did not stay for the out come.

Good luck!   Face :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

I have a tool which is flexible and has a button on the end so when you push it claws come out and will grab stuff.

If you can see it try attaching a sharp single fish hook to a wire. A good fish hook is real sharp.

Good luck

Lean it over towards the hole and wait and hopefully it willfloat that way and then grab with previous post tool or plastic magnet LOL, I would also suck oil out with turkey baster till you can see it. Hope this helps!

I bought some metal rods with sharp ends that are curved and one with 90degree angle (kind of like dentist tools but for auto). I would fish for the tube with one of the picks, might not work but thats what I would try. Good luck!

One easy way would to get a straw and run a loop of wire through it so a loop/noose comes out the other end...like one of those tools they use to catch snakes or dog catchers use.  Then insert in the hole and snag the dropped piece and remove.  Easy to make from common items!
