Yes and I use S100 wax and it's the best stuff since sliced bread!!
I second the S100! I have been using it since the 80's and love it! I buy it in the 2.2 litre size from Dennis Kirk.

RE: not washing your bike. I like to wash my bike and it gives ma an opportunity to touch every part. That sometimes can lead to finding something loose, cracked or missing! Now I know with these new bikes they never break! (He He) But when you start adding your personal touch and adding or changing parts there is always an opportunity for something to come loose or straight out break. I guess its the Air force in me but I still like to Preflight, Post Flight my scooter everytime I ride it. Cuts down on the road side supprises!  JMHO Face!  :2vrolijk_21:

Go riding in the summer evening in Kentucky right at dusk and you will have a bike covered with dead bugs! I've never had to clean so much as I do living here. The bugs are thick as butter some evenings. When you work all day but need to ride everyday then that seems to be when I do all of my week day riding. I usually give it a whore bath with a towel and windex 3 or 4 times then its ready for a complete douche. Dam Suicidal bugs!

How long do you guys think it takes before the wax is worn/washed off.  Even if using a detail spray.

If you wash your bike one time with an ordinary detergent you will wash off the wax. Be sure to only use a specific soap that clearly states that it will not remove wax. Even then soap=detergent=wax stripper.

There's nothing better than a properly waxed vehicle (including chrome) and a big bucket of scolding hot water and a clean towel. I wax my vehicles twice a year and only "wash" it with soap right before I wax them. Always shiny, always beads water.

Easier to get the bugs off if it's waxed too.

I have heard that putting wax on chrome can cause problems--something about not letting it breath???

That would be me!  :huepfenjump3:

I have seen your bike!  It must get serviced often if it only gets cleaned there!

I actually remember reading a article to that effect and always just cleaned well and let it go 'commando' so it could 'breathe'.  :2vrolijk_21: har.  spyder

Chrome, when undamaged, isn't permeable.  There's nothing there to "breathe."  Have heard vendors or platers argue that a wax coat might trap moisture inside the wax and lead to chrome failure.  But that's bunk too.  Just someone trying to avoid a warranty claim for pitting.

Damn, does this mean that my excuse for not waxing the chrome is forever debunked?  My Glare bill is going to soar.  spyder
