Heated seat is HOT!!!
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:43:13 AM »

My heated seat on my 2011 FLHTCUSE6 is way too hot to leave on for an extended period of time.  I put it on the lowest setting and it takes a little while to heat up, then it keeps heating up to the point that it gets uncomfortable and I have to turn it off.  It then stays hot for quite a while.  Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes It is standard operation with the heated seats. Hand Grips get luke warm and the seat burns your butt!!

Just a thought, had the same problem on my Sun Ray seat (not standard equipment)
The wires were reversed, made the controller useless and kept the seat at max.

I'll take a look next time I remove the seat

Sounds like they put the North Dakota seat on your Texas bike!

Yeah, maybe it just doesn't get cold enough down here.  It does keep you toasty on cold winter night rides.

I noticed the same issue on mine, but of course it was one of those 45 degree days, so I switched it to the low setting and it was a little more comfortable.  You can take comfort in knowing that when the temperature is really cold, the seat will do it's job.  :drink:

Now I have just the opposite on my 2010. I keep it on high and it barley gets warm, on low, virtually nothing.

Mine seems to work fine but the passenger, (wife) complaines that hers is too hot even on low. Now my hand grips work but the right side, (Throttle) grip came loose and off. The dealer glued it back on but now only the end near the cap gets too hot at times.
