Looking to buy my first CVO Ultra Classic
« on: January 17, 2011, 12:46:30 PM »

Hello, I've decided to upgrade from my 2006 Ultra to a 2009 or 2010 CVO Ultra.

My reasons for going with a low mile used bike is because I own a car dealership and in Iowa I won't be forced to pay sales tax like I would on a new bike.  Plus my dealership insurance will cover the bike as well.

From my research it looks like the 2009 and 2010 are basically the same other than the center LED on the tour pack??  Are there any pros and cons from the 2009 to 2010?

I actually like the paint a tad better on the 2009's.

I'm in S.E. Iowa so if anyone has or knows where I can find a bike close to me with low miles I'm in the market.

Thanks Brett

Here is a pic of my current bike.  I could of bought a CVO for the amount I spent trying to make this bike the way it is.

Nice bike, stay tuned and check this site often.  At least if you find a bike here you have a little history?

Just saw this post of yours.  You can also check website ChopperExchange there are some 09's SEUC's listed there right now. I replied in your new member post. What color 09 did you like best? Your bike looks great BTW.

Hello, I like the Red color in the 09.  I found one about 6 hours away from me with low miles but it's on ebay.  I guess I'll have to wait and see what it brings unless I find something sooner.

LarryB  I'm not apposed to a 2011 but it would need to be used so I can take advantage of my dealers license.

I will check out chopperexchange!  Thanks

I like the wheels on your current bike.  What is that a 19" on the front?

Hello, that is a 21" front and 18" rear.  I lowered the front one inch and built my own on board air system for the rear shock so I can adjust them while riding.

Since this picture I built a 98" motor with 525 gear drive cams and bigger valve heads.  I took the Rhineharts off and went to a 2 in to 1 D&D Fat Cat.

The bike made 100/105 on the dyno.

I bought the bike new and if I knew then what I know now I would have bought an SE Ultra to begin with but this is my first Harley so I got a chance to work on it and make it mine so to speak.  No regrets just time for a change.

There's a red '10 on the floor at Andrae's H-D in Urbana, IL.  10,000 miles.  $32,9xx, I think it was.  Not really "low miles" for a '10, but it is clean.

Hello, thanks for the reply.  I found another 2010 Red with 10,000 miles in Wis too for about the same price.

I'm really trying to stay under 5000 miles plus for $33,000 you might as well bite the bullet and buy a new one, especially with 10,000 miles.

Thanks again!

My thoughts, exactly.  '11s come with GPS, too, which you're going to add to the '10 if you do much touring, anyway.
