I locktite two short studs to replace the two screws into the threaded mounting holes.  Then remove/install nuts instead of the screws when removing/installing the fairing.  Much easier (for me, anyway) to handle the nuts than screws...

And I use a magnetic socket in install the nut.  Never dropped one yet - and much easier to line everything up...   :2vrolijk_21:

I use a magnetic torx bit, of course this is after the fact when the bolt did a Houdini on me.

Went and bought a replacement screw last night.

Cost:
screw: $0.50
Gas to drive to the dealer: $6.00

Could have been worse like $6.00 for the screw and $.50 for gas to drive to the dealer. LOL

And it's the better kind of "screw" to get from a dealer too!!!

should keep extra screws on hand and use a magnetic screwdriver with the 27 torx bit.. Makes it a whole lot easier to get that screw started on the lower RH side..Experience buddy, experience.
