I don't know Taz01.  A lot of people claim to work at the factory or MOCO.  How can we all be sure of that and what you say is accurate?

Hey Taz....can you report any other info on the sun fading paint problem?  Did they notice it on the 'show-bike' over a period of time or just how'd they pick-up on that?  :confused5: spyder

This was done on purpose, Harley is starting to sell bike sunscreen and great bid A$$ sunglasses to protect the paint.

It was never supposed to become public knowledge.  More closely guarded than State secrets.  But now, finally, we know who is The Pool Boy!

The night i picked mine up, the store manager said he talked to a rep at the last dealer meeting that confirmed the issue was the fading.  He was told that it was noticed after the bikes had been out to sturgis.  They said under their lab tests it did great, but out in the real sunlight it faded. they had to go back and redo the chemical composition and then had to test and retest. hence the six month delay. The rep said, "its not like were makin minivan paint, we have to get this right" And i sure hope they did get it right.  :drink:

Ah yes, only 5 posts all asking to verify the information.  When somebody claims to be a member of the MOCO I find it facinating.  Most companies have confidentiality policies that could lead to problems for the the person claiming to be a worker and posting information not for the general public.  While I enjoy the specualtion and have fun reading that and learn alot on this site, I just have to ask when somebody makes that claim.  Why would somebody want to risk it...

Seems to be common knowledge at this point (see HD Kid's post just above).  The up side is that the MoCo did recognize the problem and took the initiative to do something about before they unloaded 10,000 of them.......that's the news! :2vrolijk_21:
