I'm the second owner and am going out of warranty 06/24/2006. I've checked the bike over pretty good and no peeling issues. I guess I better give it the really good once over so I can speak now or forever hold onto my pieces!

Hey Mike why don't you purchase an extended warranty. I was told you could as long as you don't let the original run out. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] It doesn't matter if you are the second owner.

I got it all up front before I spent all it on chrome! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] I believe I would definately invest in it if I was about to run out. Especially going into the 3rd year! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Especially with all the electrics that these bikes have.  One problem with that issue alone will pay for the warranty.

By the way, keep in mind that extended warranties are negotiable!  If one dealership will not negotiate......go to somebody who will.  You can buy it from any dealership.....it doesn't have to be the dealership that sold you the bike.  I hope this information helps.

So far : Front wheel, back wheel,Passenger floor boards, rider floor boards (twice),& 1 Mirror. When I had the Front wheel replaced the service rep told me not to worry about my replacement wheels 'cause it was a problem with only 1 bach of wheels. That was in Oct. Now my year old rear replacement rear is peeling like a stripper durring bike week.I took an envelope of chrome to my dealer & told him that yes I keep my bike clean.Got an appointment with the new area rep when I get back from Murtle Beach.Bike is an 04 that is out of warrenty, but from what I've read here I won't have a problem getting it replaced. Now I have to decide weather to get another stock wheel or try for something more durrable.I believe chrome adheres better to steel than aluminum.Maybe someone should have told Harley that.

Well I just noticed my rear wheel has yet another problem, this time not a peel (YET) but a discolored spot.. I'll have to keep an eye on it and show the dealer. Time to check it out real good again to see if anything else is starting up again! Funny it just loves to do this right before the season starts for the larger riding times!!
  OHHHHH this does aggravate me.

Got tipped off about the credit for the differance by a SEEG rider in Myrtle Beach. Don't know if I would have got it if I hadn't asked.

Andy, did they allow you to opt for different wheels if you preferred?  Or a direct warranty replacement of same products?

Also, I thought JCZ had posted the Detonator wheels had been discontinued. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
