If I were going to Paint or Re-Paint my bike I would go to a reputable painter and IMO Harley ain't the place. :nixweiss:

Judging by what some of those parts cost individually, you'll spend close to $7000 for everything. I bet I'm not far off on the cost.

If you're willing to spend some time, most of the information you need is here:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies//hdm_oem/hdmc.asp?Type=12&A=599

Let us know what you find out.

PS:  I was at the dealer yesterday when I ran into a buddy who was buying a new right side saddlebage lid for his SESG2 and list price for the lid was $350.

Why would anyone need a complete CVO paint set?  If the bike was damaged that badly, the insurance company would total it, so I'm thinking you're not interested in fixing a wreck.  If you're thinking about buying the complete set to hang on a regular (non CVO) bike, I think you might find it to be a little difficult since the CVO painted parts are all VIN restricted.  What exactly are you looking to do?

I have a 2010 Ultrase burnt amber and hot citrus. I personnally like the 2010 mid year black ultra paint set but do not care foe the blacked out look...just my preference. For grins I am wondering if the complete set could be purchased. I realize I can buy the hardware and have a custon paint shop try and match but at the end of the day it would only be a match. I also understand that alot of folks on this site have had paint issues from HD but personnally after 4 CVO's purchased in the last 5 years all of mine have been top notch.

For now I am waiting to see what the mid year surprise will be for the Ultrase that should be released February 3, 2011 before I decide if I want to have an additional paint set.

I would go to Colormania.

They started the Harley custom paint thing years ago and still do excellent work.  I had a friend inquire about a 2002 Ultra and the price was somewhere around 3200

It would be simpler to simply "de-black" a black CUSE5; and, as mentioned previously, you probably can't buy new CVO tins w/o returning "damaged" parts.  Personally, whether you trade for a black '10 or get black tins, I'd like to see the black '10 with chrome replacing much of the black-out parts.

egultrac, you're welcome.  A word of caution, however; double-check p/n's through an HD parts book prior to buying anything as I've found a couple of minor errors involving electrical connectors and hardware in the link on specific bikes.

After going through he parts finder I like my Burnt Amber a whole lot more. The cost to purchase all painted items would be $8000. I would like to see a bike that was "de-blacked" also which is why I am interested in a paint set. But is looks like I would need to purchase the bike and install chrome, who would of thought chrome would be cheaper?

Given how popular blacked out parts are these days, you'd probably come out close to even purchasing new chrome parts and selling the black take-offs from a black '10 CVO Ultra.

Looks like Jason was close but a little on the low side, but by the time you throw in tax and shipping he is close to dead on.

If you were to buy a new paint set you would easily get $4,000.00 for your old stuff. You would also have better resale with original Harley paint.
