Ultra Tour Pack Rear Light Bar
« on: April 07, 2006, 10:02:10 PM »

Anyone out there ever have an Ultra TP painted and have to re-install the rear light bar.  What is the sealer that the factory uses (that white snotty looking stuff on the inside around the lights).  It's some kind of silicone,  but it seems to stick better and is tougher.  Anyone know of anything other than the standard tube and tile calk????

I use hi temp silicone (because I'm a stove & chimney guy and I have multiple tubes on my truck). I put my motors (race car) together with it and I also use it as a adhesive as well as a sealer.

Hi-temp silicone can be found at any auto parts store, or in many home centers like Menards or Home Depot.  I use it on tons of stuff as an adhesive, and it normally lasts forever.  Now, if you want really tough, try polyurethane.  Just don't use it on anything you might want to remove in the future. (This is the stuff used to bond windshields to auto bodies, and removal is no piece of cake.)

The  [smiley=cherry.gif] Ultra Tour PAK (and that's the correct spelling.....PAK...for all you ebayers out there....in isn't PACK....-OR PAC.....get with it....).....is finally done.  Been over 6 months in the works (mostly because of $$$,  but I made some good deals,  thanks to ebay and others ((too cheap to bite the bullet and go long with the stealer......didn't offer what I wanted anyway..no  [smiley=cherry.gif] in an ULTRA tour Pak, with lights)).......SPIDERMAN gifted me a felt liner today for the inside{ Thanks bro,  love ya!!}.  The High temp silicone idea was the sh$t......thanks for the tip.........same.... same as the factory stuff.  I love this site......everyone adds a little when they can.......

Niatram........Thank you for keepin' this site alive........I've gotten more tips here that really count (when it counts) than anywhere in my travels........I still call it the collective mind......Thanks again....You guys are all tops........
