Trade-in: Deuce or Street Glide?
« on: February 02, 2011, 09:23:17 AM »

Would love to keep all but I really would not be able to ride them all enough!  The 2008 ultra stays as that is our long trip bike.  That leaves the 2003 SED and the 2010 SESG to consider for trade.  The SESG was intended to keep the weekend trip mileage off the Ultra but Anne never found it comfortable (I never added florrboards, tourpack etc.)  and the SED is the barhopper.  If I Trade-in the SED, the SESG becomes a barhopper which I can't complain about but I have had the SED since it's birth and the SESG is the NKotB.

What do you all think?

BTW, Anne said keep four but at the price of the SERGU I want some trade-in value.

What do you want to get? I'd trade the bike that most closely matches the new bike you want to get. I'd keep the SED for around town if it were me.

The rgu would be the new long hauler, no? I'd trade the 08...one bat(sg), one shark(rgu) and one cool bike(d).  jussayinzall.

I'm just wondering how many pairs of Oakley's for Anne that will cost you to keep all four?? :D :D :D

Really hard decision... after owning FD's not sure if given the option I wouldn't want to keep all FD's... doesn't sound rational (they say variety is the spice of life) but practically speaking how much would you ride (have you ridden) the Deuce? Compare the time you've owned both vs mileage you've ridden them both and if it appears you've ridden the SESG more then you may have your answer. :nixweiss:

You're well on your way to joining Andy's league.......one for each day of the week.

The up side is it keeps the mileage low on all of them, even years down the road.  The down side is that you're buying five sets of tires at a time. :o

WFP6...hmmmm.

I would love to keep all four but last year I put low miles on all bikes...the SESG was the high at 3K!  My total for all bikes is usually 15-20K.  The SEd only had 500 last year.

WFP Fly-n-Ride...interesting....

That answers my question and should give you some direction for your decision... good luck either way... I hate getting rid (selling) of bikes.. told myself I'd never do it again. Nothing worse then seeing one of them driving away for good. :bigcry:
