CVO ElectraGlide vs RoadGlide
« on: February 03, 2011, 01:55:06 PM »

Always wondering why HD put an IPOD on the CVO RoadGlide but not on the CVO ElectraGlide? Seems odd.....

Sure would like to put my IPOD on my CVO ElectraGlide.  Anyone figure out how to wire it up the same as it is on the CVO RoadGlide?  Having the same functionality as the RoadGlide?

Rumors are that some folks are having some problems w/ them.

Might be better off just using the front plug on the

HK instead and saving some dough!

If you want you can purchase and install the IPod interface. Some people have problems and some do not.

Hey.... makes sense that they would have the interface.  A shade pricey.... but for the clean look and full functionality...... and throwin' down the bux for a CVO, why cut corners?

Mine occasionally will cut out, usually if you go through all the functions and go back to ipod it works again. If not I just disconnect it and reconnect it when I stop. Love the ipod though. It's alot better than humming to myself.

on the FLHTCUSE they already installed the Zumo which is a very capable MP3 player. So why adding the iPod gimmick?

Kraut..... interesting idea..... I guess I don't drive my daily drive with the Zummo on the bike. So, would be nice to have an alternative.  The XM is pretty expensive ~ $150/6mo  -- so the IPOD with 50,000 songs @ $350 for kit may not be too bad.....

Well, well.....I am in good old liberal California.  It cost $17/ month for the "everything" option,  $3/mo for internet Sirius...... then for the 6 mo term, it cost $8.50 for Royalties and a $15 activation fee.

So, without the activation, it is $257/yr.  Payback on $330... just a shade over a year.

Where are you getting it for $8.95?

Maybe you missed Kraut's point?  ??? Not sure why it would be easier to hang the iPod on the bike than to snap the Zumo on?

I'm also getting (basic) XM for the $8.95 a month. Don't remember if I paid a $15 activation fee, but even with that it only comes up to $69 for the first 6 months.

I use the MP3 on the Zumo when I'm in the mountains/trees and the reception drops out a lot, but mostly it's XM.

I have it on both bikes and my wifes car, got in on it way back, hers is less than $15.00 and the bikes are $8.95 a month each.
