Holy crap, Bill, 12.3 is really high!  But 5.9 is really, really good!  Keep it up!  I'm on an insulin pump ... Best I've ever run is a 6.5.  Usually come in at a 7.0 like clockwork.

What about a Feuling pump.... you think they have one for that application? :nixweiss:

Seriously.... take care of yourselves guys... diabetes is no joke but you can live a long life if you watch your meds and diet.

Hmmmm, I did get a "motor error" on this new, 2011 model a couple weeks ago.  Maybe that was it telling me it's time for mods! :bananarock: :huepfenjump3: :P

I've got it too...Type II though, so I'm controlling it with diet.  Last blood test had me at 5.8.  The only thing that makes a difference is the kind of fuel you use in the motor.  If I could lose about 10-15 more lbs, I'd be fine.  I've had every orifice poked, prodded, and anylazed this year.

Diabetes is nothing to fool around with...certainly got my attention when I was diagnosed.  Gettin' old is hell...

Just glad to hear that Randy is doing better and that hopefully they will get his meds straightened out.

Randy and others,

Just don't follow my example...my doc sent me to the Joslin in Boston to take care of my Type II because this past summer I was bad.  I guess it helped since I am in control today...but I have a long way to go to maintain.

Been getting lasers in the eyes because I was bad...I sure like to see so this was a wake up call.

Bill,

I am pleased to read that you heard the message...this is a controlable disease unlike so many others so it is important to take charge of what you can...

Randy,

I have full faith and confidence in your ability to control this matter...once the drugs are in control...the rest is up to you....diet, exercise, blood glucose monitoring...yeah I know these tasks are not SEXY...but necessary....We need you to continue your efforts for MV!!!

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and concern.  Randy got out of the hospital Monday night.  He went in the hospital with a blood glucose of 1200 and very sick.  Then after 3 days of laying in CCU they found blood clots in his leg.  So now he's home taking pills and injections in his stomach to thin the blood in addition to the 4 insulin shots.  Trying to watch his diet and the sugar readings are coming down slowly.  He's still very weak and not feeling well.  Hopefully it won't be long before he's back to posting on the site.
