I stumbled onto this site yesterday while trying to figure out what I'm going to need to change on the 2011 FLTRUSE I'm waiting to be delivered, slated for an April 1st build.. This looks like the place to find out.
I've began riding when I was 16, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Over the years I've owned 2 Triumphs, an AJS, an Indian Chief, 2 XLCHs, 2 Panheads, & an XR Flat Tracker my first ex-wife & I raced.
I got out of riding for a few years, 3 divorces & arthritis in my hip. After hip surgery my doctor mentioned that I could ride again if I wanted to. That was enough for me to go straight to my local Harley dealer & buy an "08 Electra Glide Standard thinking that a fairing & an electric start were all the frills an Old School Dude like myself needed.
I made the mistake of taking my son-in-law's 103 inch Road Glide out for a ride. That required another trip to my local HD shop.
So far I've decided to relocate the floorboards & change to the shorty windshield; I'm toying with putting in a Super Tuner & LED headlights.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I typically put on about 18,000km a year split pretty evenly between highway & city.
