How many other cvo owners are having a hard time getting into neutral after they stop.

No big problems on mine.  Bought it with 7K on it, now have 12K.  It did get easier after the 10K service...  Primary chain adjusted?  Maybe??

There's way smarter folks on here that can offer better [smiley=confused5.gif]

I used to have a heck of a time finding it. Much easier now w/ 11K. Don't know if it got easier or I just got better.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Seem to remember that after getting rid of the Syn 3 in the tranny things improved.  [smiley=cherry.gif]

Three things that directly affect finding neutral:
1> Get rid of the SYN3 in the transmission and go to real gear lube.

Jerry,
Can you recommend a very good one.

Cheers

Aussie,

I personally went with the Hayden M-6, which has a proven track record.  My understanding is that the HB-125 (hydraulic version similar to M-6), and the new Harley part are also very good.

Always had trouble finding neutral at a stop.  Got easier after had been on a bike for awhile.  Maybe it was something wearing in.  More likely me getting used to the feel of that particular gear box.

On the red bike installed the primary chain tensioner while doing some other work a few weeks ago.  So the tension went on well after the bike was new and any "getting used to it" from my foot had already been done.  The chain tensioner didn't make finding neutral at very slow or no speed easier.  It was an obvious difference.  Still might have to hopscotch up and down a time or two.  But it was surprisingly easier to find.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Gentlemen,
I'll have to disagree with the comments about SYN-3 in the tranny.  My 6-speed operates smoother with SYN-3, than it did with std. gear oil.  It would hang up in 4th and 5th, in WFO mode, with gear oil.  Dudn't do that with SYN-3.  Later--HUBBARD

I recommend installing the Primary Chain Adjuster.  It reduces the noise, and makes it much easier to shift into neutral.  I added this at the same time I installed the chrome inner.

You may try giving the throttle a little jolt, bringing up the RPM's a little and as the RPM's drop back down, should be easier to slip into nuetral.

I thought that was what you were supposed to do until I got my seeg. At 2,700 miles, I can click into neutral any time I want to, and I do it sometimes just for fun  :D  Transmission is smooth and tight.

I used Redline Shockproof Heavy in the 96 RK, and it looked like a raspberry slurpy... foamy. The mechanic brought that to my attention; thought there was water involved, but couldn't find any.  Anyone else have that happen?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
