Mounting a Zumo 665 on Road Glide
« on: February 20, 2011, 09:51:33 AM »

Looking to pick up a Zumo 665 this spring any suggestion on were to mount it on a Road Glide?

Harley came out with a mounting kit but from what I have read it still interfaces with the aux port on the radio.

Any pictures of your RG and the GPS mounted would be great !!  :P

This works well for me, I don't like stuff mounted high up on the bars.  No connection required to interface with radio,  it's done via bluetooth to your helmet, the HD boothtooth unit  works great with it. . It took me two trips but finally realized to sucessfully "hooK via blue tooth" FIRST turn on the boothtooth on your helmet THEN turn on the ZUMO (they DON'T tell you that!!!!) depending on directions via then speakers is a waste of time.  use to boothtooth, wonderful!  Have fun!!!

Do you have the Zumo mounting on the inner fairing ?  If so, can you post some pictures of the mount. Thanks

The top pic is looking down at it,  the bottom pic is from the side showing the mounting to the handle bar using the chrome mount, do you not see the bottom pic???  If the pics. not coming though advise email & I can email directly to you.   Jack

Check out this post for creating an aux port in rear of radio.

I have a black aluminum mount. (Purchased from, modified, and installed by Jim (hd-dude) at Metal Dragon.)
Connected to the modified aux jack in the back of the radio.

Where did you buy the chrome mount?  Do you have it wired to the cigarette lighter or the accessory connection?

Can hard wire by running down bar, lossen tank run wire direct to batt.  then use blue tooth for audio.
