Added lighting in lower fairings???
« on: February 20, 2011, 11:48:38 AM »

Has anyone had any success or know of a kit where small hi powered lights are mounted in the lower fairings. Seams to me that with some of the LED lights now available that you would be able to cut a small (aprox 1.5") in the lower outer most front section of your lower fairing and slip in a nice bright light that mounts rigidly. I can envision a nice rubber gasket/grommet that would assemble into the hole cut in the lower fairing and the light would squeeze into the rubber grommet to help keep it water tight.
Just a thought since I don't really care for the looks of the lights some have installed on your forks or crash bars or the Kury lights for the RoadGlide. My ride is a SERG3 and I haven't seen any aftermarket kits that do this but I have seen the lights.

Haven't seen any any lights mounted in lower fairings but I just installed a set of moto lights on the calipers and they are awesome!  On the surface they may seem a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.  They are excellent quality and customer service is tops.

I saw a 2011 SESG with Headwinds spot and turnsignal lights combined on forks and he also had a trim ring around the headlight that looked great but was really expensive, I would like to go that route but 400 bucks for a trim ring seems excessive so I'll wait and see how the money tree produces this year.  hehehe   :-\

I wouldn't want to drill holes in my lowers. Any future buyer probably would look at it as a negative.

X2...drilling holes in expensive painted parts to mount things that might break or not be available in the future would not be something I would do.
