What is the American design?

I would like to wire the passing lights to be on with low beam.  I have added the lights to a CVO Street Glide, in the CVO Ultra mounts, and it looks good.  The purpose of them on with low beams is looking for roos alongside the road.  I can't have them on with High Beam only, as most of the time there are trucks and such on the road and the brights can't be on...

Soooooo, in America, are the Passing lights able to be on with low beam?  If so, you must use a different bulb as all we have in them in Australia is a bright high beam sort of 100 watt light..  Any Help?

Thanks from Australia, Cowboy 2

Passing lamps or driving lights (not sure what the MoCo calls them) are on with low beam only.

However, there's a thread in here some place that will tell you how to wire them so that you can use them on high or low beam. :2vrolijk_21:

Hey Guys,
Thank you for that... I thought I remembered the Passing Lights or Driving Lights, you Guys call them Spot Lamps  OK, Roger Roger...

Now in Oz, we have Headlight on all the time, by law.... But also by law our spot lamps are only on with the High Beam... Bummer... :confused5:

So those lights would be on, in the Old School configuration like on a Road King or a Dresser, all three lights would be on with low beam on...  Right with that ? :nixweiss:

If that is so, and I am on track here, what is the correct bulb for those to be on in the "Low Beam" setting???  These have about a 100 watt in there, too bright to have on with low beam, blinding to anyone ahead of you..

I will re-wire mine, as I can set them out about 5 degrees looking for Roos....  I wil have a switch to have them on with the low beam...  I added them to my Street Glide:

Search for post- Passing Lamps with Brites DIY. That may help you. I think our spot lamps are 55w.
