Dakota Digita Antena
« on: March 15, 2011, 09:58:50 AM »

I understand they sell an antena that installs in the fairing...any comments on the level of reception versus stock config?...someone today mentioned that reception is slightly less than stock (which I find odd, given it is digital)...anyone know price?

best regards

Larry

Yes, reception is slightly less than stock.  I don't know what's digital about them.....think that's just the name of the company (they're mostly known for their digital gauges).  It's been a few years but a quick google search will get you the current prices.

I found the tune trapper is one of the best hidden antennas out there. It worked better for me than the Dakota.

I have a J & M internal antenna and it works much better than the Dakota Digital.  I do have a Dakota Digital for sale if you want it.
Never tried a Tune Trapper but have heard some good reviews.  Nothing will beat the whip for reception though.

I was shopping for a hidden antenna a few weeks ago. I read mostly negative reviews about the Dakota. Harley just introduced a hidden antenna but it won't be available until later this month, or maybe later. No reviews on it so it may or may not be worth waiting for.
