Mike,

Let's see, 120/4.7 = 25.5 mpg

Let's face it fellas,
If you gotta worry about gas mileage,  you're riding the wrong bike (Harley's were never known for economy).   Furthermore,  let's all face it.  150 miles in any one direction,  without a stop is ALL anyone (even all you hardcores) needs to stand (and ALL of our bikes will do 150 between stops,  and if it doesn't,  wrong bike for the application....you want a ground pounder........go race ABILL) .   Maybe I'm just gettin old,  maybe just sore.....but be realistic.  You got 5+ gallons of gas....depending on conditions....you should get 150 out of a tank (yeah,  even if your running a 120HP motor,  if it was done right).  Gas prices are the LAST thing I worry about......

When I first took delivery of my Watermelon, best I got was around 29. After PCIII, A/C and Screamin Eagle pipes, went to about 30. I leaned it out in the 40-75% throttle position from 2500 RPM's to 4000RPM's got it to around 39, two up and an average of 72-75 on the highway.

Bottom line for me is I run out of A$$ before I run out of gas.

Mileage beats the hell out of my SUV and I have a whole lot more fun.....

I normally don't check the mileage on my bikes. I really don't care, but some in my riding group were complaining about their mileage, so I checked mine "just for the Hell of it". 42mpg with 2500 miles on the clock. That's with SE A/C, True Dual Head Pipes and stock mufflers.

Does it sound any better than stock with the mufflers moved to True Duals??  Been thinking I might put mine on for trips and such......

My gas milage SUCKS.
I am getting between 30 and 35 miles to the gallon.
Could be my driving, as I am going to need a new rear tire before I get 5000 miles on Lucy. :'( [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Am planning on having Lucy dyno tuned in next few weeks and hope that it helps milage.

Hmmm, just a thought/observation here. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Do you think your gas mileage would increase if tire were rolling versus spinning? :D Only reason I ask this is because you mentioned needing a new tire before 5K miles. Ah, hell sounds like you having fun go for it. ;)

I had an '04 Ultra with SE Stage II, cams, and SE mufflers and always got around 40 MPG.  I was surprised at being around 35 MPG with the CUSE.  I guess that I'm not doing so bad.  I'm over 1000 miles on the odometer now and I have had a tank at over 37 MPG.  I'm hoping that it will get better, but it sounds like the chances of getting 40 MPG are slim.

On my previous Ultra I did see variations and especially out west with high winds, lower octane on the gas, heavier load on the bike, etc.  I think that I'll be looking for gas about every 150 miles on the CUSE (and maybe at every station I see in some areas out west).
