2010 SESG Winter Mods Complete TW8-6, Heads, Pistons, Etc.
« on: March 18, 2011, 10:49:09 PM »

Here's the mods:  SE 10.5:1 pistons, heads ported, 5 angle valve job, heads decked .040", cylinders decked .010", .030" head gasket; TW8-6 Woods cam, Zippers 3" air cleaner, 110 OEM induction module.  I'm running D&D 2:1 factcat.  Cranking compression 210 psi.  Dyno results below.

Had it out for first ride today.  There's some horses in there, but just get to them at 3,000+, which is near the limit for the break-in.

I'll post a better picture of the dyno results.

Let the games begin.  I'm still learning, but I'm invested now.  Hah.

My quote from the TW555 thread

I like the 400 in the 110 as I do the 408 in my 117 with 110 heads. Actually the TW8 will run right there with either of them, very close and it is $60 cheaper and plus doesn't need the geometry correction, more $$.

Good job, no dabbling. The 8 is a great cam.

If you ride at 4000rpm much I am sure you will enjoy that torque but I have been really watching my tach lately and notice that I do not rev up there very much. I mean I do get on and all like yesterday hitting 110mph in 5th but from 2200 to 3500 is average driving for me.

Are you going to have it re-tuned after the break-in?

It is broken in right now, forget the rev limit. Change the oil and ride as you want.

I'm having it re-tuned  at 500 miles.  I've read the posts about break in periods, pro and con. Doesn't cost much to honor the limit to 500 miles (200 this weekend).  Even my tuner acknowledged I could inch it up as the miles were added on.

I like a little break-in too but never ride like an ole lady.

I'd ask the tuner if he can steepen the torque curve and give a little more on the bottom end, unless your a high rever in general.

I agree.  Better if the fun starts earlier rather than later. I'll see what they can do.
