I've only done 75 max on both of mine and that was fast enough for this 57 year old!

Speedo is consistenly 2mph higher than GPS value
Regarding pegging the speedo, I was not looking down when this was achieved.

I still have not figured out how to connect GPS to dyno,  (was that the point?  LOL)

But if I want the Zumo to show some outrageous speed,

I hop in the M5 and go for a ride...............

Had the SESG with 110 upgrade kit and ported heads at 130-135mph...  then the front wheel started to feel wobbling
the bike just go and go and pass 5500rpm, not good for a bagger..  changing cam from 259E to Cycle-Rama 575 next week to have the torque from bottom..

I have the upgrade kit also in the Fatbob and I have good torque in the low rpm range with the 259e cam.

now I know why H-D doesn't really care about the "high speed wobble" thing - the Americans don't run over 100 mph anyway ;D

On my earlier bikes (old frame, touring models 01, 02 and 05) 100 mph was the safe side two up under any conditions. With the 09 I went up to 130 mph once just to check. There was still some power left (in fifth gear) and the bike ran stable (on a straight German Autobahn with no speed limit) but it was definitely not comfortable  ;) Buffeting, noisy, you call it.

125 mph is about the limit for any extended time and for the long run we go at 110 mph, that beeing a good mix of speed, comfort and mpg.

I see no reason to go that fast.   :nixweiss:  Doesn't prove anything, and like Jerry said, I prefer to keep my skin on my body, not leave it on the road.  8)

it's perfectly normal over here. Under 100 mph you will be regarded as road hazard and may get yourself into real trouble, especially with a group  ;)

Hey Kraut, over here (with no autobahn) running over 100mph will get you in real trouble. :police:  AND you'll be considered a road hazard, if not road-kill.   har.  spyder

Kraut.......over here,  a couple of speeding tickets or most any moving violation ticket or two can jack up your insurance rates due to "point" against your drivers license........dont ask me how I know that. :-X

So especially during a recession and down economy,  all state agencies are looking for $$$revenue$$  whereever they can find it or produce it and writing tickets is a good way to boost the state revenues.

Plus the insurance companies get to jack up your rates for three yrs or so........so it pays them to provide funds to state police agences for the purchase of radar guns and other means to cause many of us to have a bad day.............

I am a recent convert to Harley from BMW. I was over 120 several times on the Beemer and felt OK but nowhere close on the Harley. Spent a little time over 100 on the Ultra Classic but just didn't feel stable, maybe it is the aerodynamics of the batwing fairing design, the suspension set-up, the combination, I don't know. I don't think these bikes are built for speed, torque yes, speed no. When I was younger, and more foolish, I had a couple of metrics over the 140 mark and climbing. Still can't believe I am alive to tell about it!
