Rider's basic compact tools for the road....
« on: April 17, 2011, 09:24:38 PM »

I got asked again this past weekend about the tools I carry (I've been asked a number of times but always forget by the time I get home), here's the basic:

Roadtech H3 by Cruztools.....   http://www.cruztools.com/products/kitshd.html

Hex Pro (swivel head hex heads)......  http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hex+pro+wrenches&hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=12796095980642875492&sa=X&ei=GJCrTaKAIIjZiALD_dHvDA&ved=0CGQQ8wIwAg#

Star Pro (swivel torx heads).....  http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=star+pro+wrenches&hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=15596333822240815819&sa=X&ei=4JGrTdnWLqzciALQ3Z3vDA&ved=0CF4Q8wIwAQ#

These tools sets are very compact and take up very little space.  **NOTE**  The Hex Pro and Star Pro are in a long narrow canvas case that fits neatly in the deep pocket side of the SE Street Glide saddle bag.

In my opinion, this is the basic tools and you can add to them as you deem necessary.  I carry a set of sockets, zip ties, hand syphon hose, etc.

Another essential to me is a mini air compressor http://www.slime.com/category_14_Tire-Inflators.html    and tire plug kit.

Not quite the same mini compressor I have but these have saved my butt a few times out in the middle of nowhere. I may have to get one of these compressors as its even smaller than the one I have.
