My CVO is the FatBob so there is no windshield. Full frontal blast. :P

I ride with the stock shield on the Road Kind Classic and look just over. Flow dynamics of moving air allows for the head to be just above the top edge of the shield with the wind deflecting up and over.

I would tell anyone that says they can not stand any wind that motorcycling may not be for them.

On my springer, I have a shield which I can see over (1.5") but elect to ride without it most of the time.  I like the feeling of being in the wind, especially on this bike.  ;D

I rather have no or little wind or all the wind.  Wind that buffets from a bad shield configuration is a pain in the rear/head.

I like to have the option to do both that 7.5 inch to 8.5 inch range for me gives be both bad weather tuck down and sit straight up and get the wind. A power windshield would be the answer.

I have the new Klockwerks flare7.5 works great
I have the 9 inch cee bailey works great..quality
factory harley works great when its 45% outside
and a 6 inch.

Definitely over the shield,

looking through a smoked windshield at nite is uncool and having a clear on is not a good look.

maybe if they put a windshield wiper on

OVER! Worked good that way on both old Road Kings. I'm still running the OEM windshield on the 09SEUC, works fine. If it happens to be dark and raining and you can't see over your windshield your in deep chit! Just ask my brother in law...

Spring and Fall I run a taller one for all the road crap and rain.
Summer months I like to look over about 2 inches.
But that's just me.

 :cherry:

I agree with the comments that suggest the windshield height be just about "nose" high on the rider.  Even a stock windshield (non-lipped), will throw the airstream higher than the windshield itself.  Next time you ride,  hold your left arm straight out in front of you with your wrist cocked and your palm turned toward the wind at the top of your windshield,  you should be able to raise your arm/hand several inches upward before you will feel the pressure of the wind on it.   Or just hold your hand in front of your face and then start raising it and you'll find out just where the wind is ......helmet high or higher.

After trying over and under for years I favored the look of the over(CB), but for a long ride the tall see through was best. Changing back and forth all the time was a pain so the folks at CV let me try few of their shields at AZ Bike Week and now I'm down to one shield. I settled for the stock height recurve see over and now I'm happy with the look and function. I think something like the BMW power adjustable shield would be the best way to go on the RG, but we can only hope. Doc
