There were several trikes back in the day where I was at. Two of them were old cop things, and another with a 45 that was an ex icecream bar sale rig. They were also seen in the same ride with a sidecar mounted honda 305 that drove both back wheels.....

I am more concerned about the skill level of the folks riding around me than what bike or trike they ride.  If I am unsure of their ability the I prefer to be in the back!

Here is what happened.

I called the MSF and they said the recommended position for the trike was in the rear due to the quick stop potential, visibility and width that did not allow the standard stagger. If in the middle a double distance to the next bike was recommended.

The day before the ride I saw the lady at the Mexican restaurant and asked her if she would ride the sweep position for us due to her better visibility. She said that would be fine and then I added that I did call the MSF and and gave her the findings as I stated. I then asked the most experienced rider to "Sheppard" her by riding in front of her and riding as a two bike team, never leaving her for any reason. He accepted and she was pleased to hear that because she did not wan to to get separated and lost while out of state.

We got back from our 1500 mile trip and all is well. She did ask that she not be put behind two riders that we ride with on occasion. Her reason, they are to slow. Shame these two blokes would hold up an old lady on a trike.

Boss Hoss Cycles based in Dyersburg, TN built a bad a$$ trike for a guy here that had lost his legs to illness or injury, i'm not sure which.  It is equipped with a space for the dude's wheelchair.  It's ergonomically built as to facilitate easy access on and off the trike.  I see him on the road locally often and marvel at the new found freedom he must feel.  Oh yea, Monty Warne  who originally created Boss Hoss Cycles did all of this on his own dime.

Trikes that ride with us always ride in the back.  Friend of mine came by the Dealership Friday to show me his new CVO Trike.  Longer than a three-week payday.  Conversion done by California Trikes.  Paid Big Buck$ for paint, as Harley would not give him codes.   2" Overstock Tubes, independent rear suspension, ground effects from hell.  Looked Good.  I may convert Ol' Maudie in a couple years.  Have to put a set of Wheelie-Bars on it.  I'm going to ride it this week-end, weather permitting.  Later--HUBBARD
