Zumo Glare
« on: May 29, 2011, 06:32:19 PM »

Took a ride today and first time with the ZUMO 660 and I could hardly see the screen. It was a sunny day and the glare made it impossible to see. Anybody else have the same problem? Is this a issue that can be solved some way?

not really.

The 660 has poor visibility so you just have to try turning it a little up or down corresponding to where the sun comes from.

It's still way less than the 550 was  ???

I have the Glare Stomper on my 665, but the glare can still be a problem because the fixed dash position causes certain sun positions to wash out the screen.  Another thing I have discovered is a light colored shirt will reflect of the GPS and can cause the screen to wash .  This has been as big a problem to me as the direct sun.  Have heard of people putting washers between the Garmin mount and the dash mount to tip it a little, I have not tried this so I can't comment on how much this helps.  Try the dark shirt for sure.

Yep, he does.  Send him the link to the swivel adaptor that you made for me.  Works great!  Or you may want to put you an ad on the "Selling'" thread!

I bought an invisible shield from ebay for my 660.  Protects the screen and takes care of the glare.  Don't expect miracles but it's a good and cheap solution.
