Thanks Terry.
Looking through my Nikon D-60 then looking through Jock's Nikon (don't remember the model but it's a full frame)....worlds apart.
He did give me some tips as we traveled together for about 7 or 8 days.
By the way, I tried the hat trick......everybody kept asking why my camera wore a hat.
On the serious side, he did mention to me that I should get a lens filter. I do have a lens hood.....just easier to ride with it hanging around my neck without the hood.
Figured it was either a D700 FX(full frame) or D300 DX from the looks of the body in one of the photos. D300(s) is a great camera...high end DX instead of FX(full frame, or equivalent to "true" 35mm film in what the lens "sees"). If you are thinking about upgrading, take a hard look at the new D7000...Great camera body which would allow use of your current lenses, and not heavy/cumbersome like the "pro" bodies. If you get a filter for the front, go through B&H Photo/Video...no need for a "UV" filter on digital. Just clear, but multicoated to reduce flare. DX is fine...no need to go to FX unless you just want to. Only difference is for any given lens on DX, there's a multiplier of 1.5 to get to the equivalent FX. In other words, a DX lens that is a 16-85 mm, translates to old 35 mm film lenses, and FX camera bodies, as 24-127.5 mm.
