Time to take US Highway 24 and some road views…you can really get close to the large mountains here…one of the largest is Mt Harvard 14,420ft.

As Sammy Hagar would sing…”I can’t drive 35!”….Oh yeah it’s 55 in his song so I guess I am ok.

Mt Elbert area…it would be here that I made some decisions…38 miles to Aspen and the remaining miles of gas is estimated to be 92 miles…should be good right!  Remember those two bikes in front of me?  They took in some gas at a old gas station and I passed.  After all I have 92 miles and even cutting that in half I should be good to go…

It is at this point it I reach my point of concern…the miles on the tank have dropped significantly versus what I expected.  I am now at 51 miles and I have only traveled about 10 miles.  I am thinking that I am on an incline and well I am just to mad to turn around and get that old gas.  Press on…the road really begins to incline and what a view…but now where to put off to get a better pic

I reach Independence Pass…plenty of snow and fun but not for me…I am really concerned now as the miles remaining on the tank meter are 24 and at the current rate who knows what to expect…

So what do you do?  Well my decision was to place the bike in neutral and conduct some hang gliding.

Well have about 9 miles of hang gliding, a declining road and a check engine light coming on the miles on the tank changed to 89…WOW!  By the time I used the throttle I was coming close to Aspen.

By the way gas was $4.99/gallon…the most paid to-date.

Even the dog enjoyed the water…

For a small price you can enjoy one these homes that overlook the city…priceless!

Not into the “house on the hill”…What about a “condo at the base”?...priceless too!

They were having an Eco Friendly Street Fair…how would have thunk it?

It’s a dog’s life…

Only in Aspen would you found the field covered…

Now I am into saving energy as much as the rest of them butt here is where I draw the line.  Instead of using electrical power she is using azz or perhaps gas power…That’s it I’m done.  But the way the patron that purchased that drink stated it taste like…well you know the word

HA!

Beam me up Scotty I am out of here…

Say good-bye to Aspen…I could not afford it anyway…some of those folk were made of money…

Now I know some would consider Colorado a state with some alternative energy sources but I am uncertain about this one…What exactly are the selling by the gallon and where does the kum come from and by whom?
