Re-Upholster Sundowner Seat
« on: June 16, 2011, 07:48:20 AM »

Does anybody know who can re-upholster a standard H-D seat? I really like the Sundowner seat I have...so does the BSR. But, the vinyl has split near the seams. :(

I would like to have the same shape...and height but done in leather. I got zero desire to spend a ton of money on other seats and find they don't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't waste your time or money, just get a Mustang 1piece " Super Touring " and be done with it!

Jerry/MD, Recovering your seat in leather would be much more economical then buying a new seat.(providing you are happy with the seat you have now) I made a post about the seat on my 09SEUC. The upholsterer reshaped it for me, and put in a gel pad. Total cost $450.00. Heater still works fine. I think any upholstry shop close to where you live could do this job. Probably a recover would be cheaper then what I did since he had to remove a lot of foam and install  a gel pad at my request to get my feet a little flatter on the ground. You could also add a heater if you don't already have one.CAHDBIKER

FYI: Talked to Robbie at Mean City Cycles yesterday. They can re-upholster my seat in leather and install some memory foam to increase comfort. Can't wait.  :bananarock:

These guys reworked my stock saddle to install a propad.  I imagine they can recover a saddle easily.
