Man my bike runs hot. Hot enough that the people behind me comment on the smell. It doesn't smell like oil, or plastic, it just smells HOT!! It was hot this weekend, mid 80's to mid 90's, riding through the hills and at elevation, bike was over 275 all day. Had a long final leg to the ride, when I stopped, I now have an oil leak. looks like my transmission shaft seal on my inner primary is leaking. I am just wondering if this is a factor of the heat? Talked to Steve at Fullsac about my high oil temp's a while back, he says its normal. Just seems to hot to me... This is with an oil dip stick temp gauge.
Is everybody else running this hot? I have an x-pipe, 2.25" baffles, and Steve's tune, oh, and a 30 tooth front pulley.
bike runs pretty good, but not as strong in the hills loaded down as I thought it would be. My buddy has a bone stock 2006 RG with only slip on mufflers, not even a stage one air cleaner. I probably out weighed him by 200 lbs with my passenger etc (he was solo and smaller than me). I couldn't pull him on the long hills. Now we didn't race a bunch of times, and I wasn't beating the hell out of my bike, but over Monitor pass he was behind me and I really couldn't shake him.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Time for some cam's for sure.....
