I have them on my bike.  I got them from Laws Vegas HD, at the time, they were back ordered and they just happen to have 2 sets, headllight and passing lamps in black.  They gave me 15% off, and at the time no one would discount them if they happen to have them in stock, and the back order (black) was til mid May.  I love them, they make more visible during the day, and they are fantastic with a very broad band of light at night.  My friends that ride in front of me (daytime ride) say they are distracting in their rear view mirrors.  I think they are worth every penny and one of the best accessories i installed on my bike.  Hopefully the picture uploads?

I have the LED headlight and the LED spots. I upgraded from the HID lights. I love everything about the LED's, they are very bright, I can see both sides of the road, they light up signs far down the road. But if I would have been able to try before I bought them I would have bought the spots only and used my HID headlight with them. The reason I say that is the LED's throw a very flat wide light pattern. It is great running flat down a road. But when you lean to turn onto a dark road there is no glare to see the road you are turning on. The beam of light is very flat, so when you lean to turn and your headlight is pointing downward, the beam of light you see is only a couple of feet tall. If you roll your bike close to a wall and look at the LED light pattern you can see what i am trying to explain. The spots are well worth the money, I have seen deer and small animals standing 50' off the side of the road. The LED light pattern has a flat cut off so not to blind on coming traffic which is good until you need to make a left turn onto a dark road. Tight twisties on dark roads you have to slow way down because the lights don't light up the next corner. Hope this helps. I would recommend you try the spots first, that maybe all you need.

Good info.   I might just try the spots on the Ultra first.   Also I want to try and find the "cheapest" set of 4 1/2" fog lites I can find and then maybe swap out whatever lite comes in them with the new LEDs as I have a couple of small spots now behind the grille on my '39 to assist and these along with the LED headlites should do the trick.

Topper,  I have not heard that complaint before.  I have reviewed a few (comparison tests) between this light and an alternative LED lite known as the (Truck-Lite),  and I never read any commentary regarding (fogging).   Pls relate the info if you have it.

Here is the best review of both LED types that I have seen so far............

Yea, If I lived in Long Island I'd probably feel the same way!
 :)

Gee, who on Long Island would even know it was a $500 headlight?

Here is the link.  I spoke to my local dealer and he said that there have been some complaints of fogging and that he thought the part # was changed which usually means they modified something on the part.

Thanks for that link.   From the sounds of it all,  perhaps the "fogging" issue has been corrected.   I'll be sure to take note when I get a pair.

I do have a (contact) name at JW Speaker Company.  I emailed them and this guy said to let him know if I had any questions.  So if any fogging arises,  he will be hearing from me. (JW Speaker is the lighting company that makes these lights for HD)

So are you getting the H-D ones or the JW ones? I believe the fogging issue is due to the fact that the lights are not 100% sealed which would allow for moisture. The other issue is that the LED's do not get as hot as a regular light bulb so with that said it makes it hard to heat up and burn/dry up the moisture.

I remember on my F-250 I had LED tail lights and in the winter when it was snowing and the snow would dust the back of your vehicle while driving, the LED's would not melt the snow even when the lights were on. If you had the OEM tail lights with reg. bulbs there was no problem with melting the snow. The trade off was how bright the LED tail lights were compaired to the OEM. People knew when you applied the brakes!

"So are you getting the H-D ones or the JW ones?"

I tried to explain this earlier in this post.  JW Speaker Co.  makes those LED lites that end up at your HD dealer in an HD package.   Harley is the (ONLY) source to get that LED lite with the chrome reflector background versus the black reflector background.   If you try to order the chrome one from JW Speaker, it will be a (high beam only) lite.

Since I want the chrome one,  I will be sourcing it from some HD dealer given the best price (shipping chgs) that I can find.

So the 'black' version is not black housing/trim, but a black looking reflector?  At least that's what the pic looks like.  Wonder if the chrome version is brighter than the black version or if they're the same?  spyder

You're right,  I had kinda forgotten about N. Jersey and their many, many toll booths.   Used to travel thru many of them on the way to/from the Newark airport.   At least, you now have a great governor that has the cajones to deal with unions.   His efforts should help to fix a good bit of the budget problems brought about by the unreasonable demands of public unions and their excessive pension and benefit demands.

The sagging economy has exposed these excesses and the (unfunded) liabilities they have generated.   Jersey is just one of many states dealing with the same kinds of problems that have been kicked down the road for many yrs.   Jerseys governor would be and should be putting himself up as a presidential candidate.   I'd sure consider him as a top notch candidate to get our country back on track. :drink:

You obviously are not up to snuff on all the facts.

He is a thug - no better then the people he is bitching about - it is his way or the highway - and that is where I will leave it.

X2!

I agree with Big Red.  I've been running the Harley LED's for 8,000 miles and the only complaints I have is the lack of visibility when making a 90 degree turn and the passing lights fogging up.  So far the moisture in the lights haven't caused a problem, but what about two years from now?  Heck, two years from now they'll have something bigger and better so it really isn't an issue!

Question for those of you that have gone ahead with the LED installation (Headlite).  Assuming some of you may also have the garage door opener function too,  did ya have to use the 70423-98 wiring harness "splitter" deal to (maintain) the garage door opening function :confused5:

Since someone said the LED warrenty in some places was 4 years, surely they could do better than the existing one year.  Of course for some of us, it's already a lifetime-warrenty.  ??? har.  spyder

Hmmmm, a very distinctive looking, $500.00 headlight that is held in place by 4 screws and can be removed in about a minute? Call me paranoid but I think I'll pass.

Sounds like a good business case for a new Brukus product...
