Blue Ridge Trip/ July 4th weekend
« on: July 09, 2011, 08:15:13 AM »

We took a casual ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee, NC to slightly into VA. Our first stop Saturday morning was the "Highest Point" sign and this is what we saw? A small group of bikers pulled in and had come all that way there to get a picture at the sign.

Can you imagine thinking up the idea lets go steal a sign? From a FEDERAL park  :nixweiss:

Oh well it was a laugh and a great trip. 70 degrees on the Parkway in the hottest part of the day.

We have a cabin in Bryson City (in the mountains) that was recently broken into while we were away. Stole all of our TV's, Blu-Ray player and some misc. stuff.  Also took my restored vintage 1978 Suzuki 370 thumper that was locked and chained to the floor (HD floor anchor, chain and lock).  Somehow managed to break the floor anchor out of the concrete.  Law tells me that this is a common occurance in the area - over 300 this year - mostly by the local Meth-heads.

These are all local people - probably locals on the BRP as well.  Beautiful area, lots of nice people in town.  A lot of the locals are put off by all of the outsiders into their state.  At least we don't break into THEIR houses and steal their stuff.  Sure do miss that Suzy..............................

Wow seems like in that area they love to pull stuff out of concrete. Come to think of it we have some family members with a home on the outskirts of Gatlinburg and someone broke in started to take the flat screen TVs and silent alarm called police and upon arrival dropped the TVs and they are full of liquid... all over the place. Said the same thing about Meth? I don't judge but must be some bad stuff. Hope you get your place in order Bryson City is a great area.

I think we need to start a new thread detailing all our funny riding experiences!
